Painter and sculptor Iraj Zand graduated from the National Academy of Fine Arts in Paris (Bozar) at the same time as the war started and returned. Iraj Zand has held more than 150 individual exhibitions since 1994 and displayed his sculptures and paintings in more than 35 group exhibitions in the country, France, Germany, Kuwait and Portugal. Zand taught in art universities since 1363. He has also been a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Painters. Among his prominent works, we can mention his collection of metal sculptures, which are the result of cutting and bending two-dimensional plates and as a result, transforming them into three-dimensional volumes and forms. Unlike most other types of sculptures, Zand’s works are recognizable and have identity from all visual angles. In his last exhibition, he used plexiglass instead of steel plates.
